Art Studio 85 is a collective group of about 25 artists, writers, film makers and musicians. This video showcases the dynamics an Art Studio 85 event. On October 3rd, 2009, 6-10pm, Art Studio 85 transformed the space of the The Walt Whitman Museum celebrating the historic birthplace of Walt Whitman through cutting edge, contemporary media.
Located in Miller Place, Studio E has been offering art instruction to the community since 1991. Studio E offers several weekly art classes for all ages from toddler to adult. All weekly classes are taught by certified Art Teachers who are also practicing artists. Incorporating art history into the sessions is also a large part of the well-rounded art education you will receive at Studio E.
My daughter and I recently attended an Art Start class taught by instructor Michelle Posner. My daughter had such a great time expressing herself through art. In this particular class we learned about Andy Warhol and his pop art. Under the direction of the teacher the kids were then able to make their own pop art using oil pastels. She kept the kids on task by modeling the lesson and making the class fun and exciting.
Studio E offers all of the following:
Most classes are drop off programs.
You can register for a season of 8 sessions or go on a drop-in basis.

A spring awakening is on the horizon in a few weeks, where snow melts away and flowers start to bloom. Perhaps ushering us into those idyllic days are local emerging artists, showcasing their work in two gallery exhibitions that open this week.
Colors explode through loud and energetic works in an exhibition titled “Rhythm and Noise! New Explorations in Color and Form,” which opens Thursday at ART (that matters) – an arts collective that offers support and guidance to up-and-coming local artists – in Oyster Bay.
Works by 10 emerging artists range across various mediums such as oil paintings on canvas and board, works in paper and mixed-media. The artists include Caitlin Golden, Rebecca Miller, Sonia Vera-Leon, Lisa Di Stefano, Anna Pickens, John Stack, Jeff Slack, Stelios, Michelle Posner and Haley Hefetz.
The show, curated by Hefetz, who is also a painter, will be on view through March 25 and is part of the Oyster Bay Art Walk that is held every first Thursday of the month.
“It gives emerging and local artists a chance and provides the platform through which their work can be seen by a wider audience,” Hefetz said via e-mail.
