Justin began as our humble intern and was such a hard worker and enthusiastic character that we hired him as an assistant teacher. Justin holds an associates degree in Fine Art from Suffolk Community College. He plans to further his education in the future and become a certified art teacher. Justin assists our teachers in summer camps and weekly classes at Studio E.

Meet our Teachers:
Kat began teaching at the studio in 2014. She is a fine art graduate and is now continuing her education by attending a Master's degree program in Art Education. Kat teaches children's classes at the studio.
Lauren Heller is a fine artist and certified art teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree in humanities and arts from Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s degree in art education from Chatham University. She works in mixed media, painting, and ceramics. Lauren began teaching children's and adult classes at Studio E in 2014.
Meet Michelle and Stelios
Michelle and stelios had the wonderful opportunity to purchase Studio E Art Classes LLC in 2012 after Michelle had taught for the previous owner for several years. Michelle has a Master's Degree in Art Education and is a Professionally Licensed Art Teacher in NY State. She oversees all children's programs that run in the studio to ensure that students receive the highest quality and standard of education.
Stelios has a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from SUNY Stony Brook and has completed an artist residency at Chataqua Institute.
Stelios and Michelle met in 2005 while studying illustration together with the late illustrator, Jeffrey K. Fisher. Michelle and Stelios began exhibiting their artwork together in 2008 and have had several dual exhibitions. For a full list of exhibits and credentials please click here.
Lauren is a contemporary Long Island Artist specializing in painting and drawing. She graduated from Stony Brook University with her Fine Arts Degree and a minor in Art History in 2014. Lauren has attended a painting marathon at the New York Studio School in New York City in June 2015 and also studied at the Mt. Gretna School of Art, an intensive program in Pennsylvania, where she painted in the landscape for six weeks in the summer of 2014. Through her work, Lauren expresses the connection and unity she feels with animals and in nature. With this expression, she encourages a dialog between humanity and their environment
Joy Ruben (LMHC, MA, R-DMT, E-RYT 500) holds an MA in Expressive Arts Therapy
from Lesley University, and a Minor in Education. She is a licensed mental health
counselor, registered yoga teacher, registered dance/movement therapist, and a
lifelong artist. She has taught movement locally to adults and children at Yoga for Life
Studio, the Port Jefferson Free Library, and the Boys and Girls Club of Suffolk. She
previously held the title of Arts and Drama Director at Apple Day Camp in Riverhead,
NY. This year, she serves as the Conference Administrator for the International
Expressive Arts Therapy Association conference to be held in Winnipeg, Canada
