In this once weekly, 90-minute class, elementary aged students (approximately ages 5 to 9) will be guided in the art of hand-built ceramics. Each week, a teacher will lead students in a guided project, while allowing them to incorporate their own creative spin on their work. Students will learn the foundations of hand building techniques including slab rolling, coil rolling, score/slipping, trimming, pinching, wedging, glazing, painting, and cleaning and caring for their station. Students will NOT use the pottery wheel in this course. The last classes of the session will be reserved for glazing and painting. Final pieces are typically available one week after completion. This is a drop off class.
Drop-in classes are available based on remaining class space and must be paid prior to the drop-in day. Please e-mail or call the studio directly to check availability and schedule.
